Rachel Alexandra was a one length winner of the May 16th Preakness Stakes over Mine That Bird (who rallied from last quite impressively) and Musket Man (whose consitency should earn him some respect). Rachel, according to jockey Calvin Borel, didn't take to the track surface, which, if true, makes her win quite impressive. Her point proven, she probably won't show up again in the Belmont Stakes June 6. Mine That Bird probably would have beaten her if he hadn't had to overcome traffic and a wide trip. If he wins the Belmont, it's really going to be a shame.
